Governor offers prayers at Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Governor N.D. Tiwari offered prayers at the hill temple of Lord Venateswara,Tirumala, on Friday.

The Governor, who is on his maiden visit to the sacred shrine, was received with traditional honours at the temple ‘Mahadwaram’ and was led straight to the sanctum sanctorum where he stood in front of the presiding deity for more than 10 minutes and paid his obeisance to the lord.

Presented silk ‘vastram’

Later, temple authorities presented him silk ‘vastram’ of the lord and the laddu (prasadam) at the ‘Ranganayakula mandapam’ situated inside the temple complex.

Earlier on his arrival at the posh Padmavathi guesthouse, he was accorded a warm reception by TTD and district officials.

Prominent among others those who received him included TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy, Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary, CVSO Harikumar and other officials.
