Tuticorin: Employees of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board affiliated to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions staged a demonstration here on Thursday evening to press their charter of demands. They asked the Government to initiate negotiations to increase the wage of all employees, before the end of this year. Vacancies existing in the TNEB should be filled immediately and 50 per cent of dearness allowance merged with the basic pay. The agitators urged the Government to give promotions without delay. P. Chairman, president, Central Organisation of Electricity Employees, and M. Murugan, district convener of CITU, spoke.
