Four residents hit by leptospirosis

THENI: Four residents of Anaikaraipatti in Bodinaickanur taluk, who have been afflicted by leptospirosis, an infectious disease caused by cattle urine, were admitted to the Government Hospital at Bodinayakanur near here on Friday.

The patients are S. Perumal (32), C. Raja (38), K. Sivakami (30) and K. Raja (20).

Initial treatment had already been given to them at the special medical camp at the village.

The Department of Health Services had sent a team of doctors and para-medical staff led by medical officer of Silamalai Primary Health Centre to the village on Thursday.
