Map distribution: Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh giving away draft maps of land survey to farmers in Kotagiri mandal in Nizamabad on Saturday.
ETHONDA (NIZAMABAD Dt.): Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh has said the Andhra Pradesh Assembly needs to enact a law to bestow legal sanctity on maps relating to the landed property of individuals prepared with the help of Integrated Land Survey Information (Bhu Bharati) system. “As far as my knowledge goes a draft bill is underway. Unless an Act is made in the Legislature the titles that are given after the ILSI survey will be of no use. Therefore, suitable enactment of law is an imperative need,” he said while talking to newsmen, here on Saturday. Conclusive deeds
He said if once the farmers get conclusive deeds they could have hassle free institutional loans and also protection to lands. Dispute origination
About 60 per cent of disputes in villages were originating from land and land related matters. The ISLI would find a permanent solution to all land disputes. The survey in the district would be completed by March, said Mr. Ramesh. The survey being done couldavoid land grabbing and under-valuation, he said.
