Phagwara: A member of an inter-state gang of robbers and killers, wanted in several robbery cases, was remanded into police custody on Friday, police said. Sukhbir Singh alias Bobby, was arrested near Sahni village and a 32 bore country made revolver and four live cartridges were recovered from his procession, the police said. Sukhbir has confessed that the three-member gang had looted about Rs 17 lakh in several banks, including Rs 95,000 from the Punjab National Bank branch at Panjora village near Mahilpur in 1997, Phagwara DSP H. P. S. Khakh said.
