New Delhi: Birendeep Sodhi shot a 129 out of 150 to clinch the gold in the Singapore Open shooting championship.
Birendeep had a series of 17, 22, 21, 22 and 25 in the preliminary phase followed by a 22 in the final.
His improving form helped him beat Michael Kwa Eng Ehrong of Singapore to the gold by a 13-point margin. Lim Boon Leong of Singapore took the bronze at 115.
The Indian skeet team of Naveen Jindal, A.D. Peoples and Mairaj Ahmed Khan also won the gold. The Indian trio shot a total of 301 to claim the title. Singapore won the silver, while the bronze went to Thailand.
Peoples also claimed the silver and Khan won the bronze in the individual event, while Jindal finished fourth in the finals.
