AVVM Sri Pushpam triumphs

TIRUCHI: AVVM Sri Pushpam College defeated H.H. Rajah’s College 16-11 to win the men’s title in the Bharathidasan University inter-collegiate handball tournament here on Saturday.

Host Urumu Dhanalakshmi College finished third.

The results: Men: Final: AVVM Sri Pushpam bt H.H. Rajah’s 16-11. Third place: Urumu Dhanalakshmi bt Bishop Heber 7-6.

Women: Semifinals: H.H. Rajah’s bt AVVM Sri Pushpam 3-2; Holy Cross bt Arungaraiamman 8-0. Quarterfinals: H.H. Rajah’s bt Urumu Dhanalakshmi 6-0; AVVM bt Cauvery 7-0; Arungaraiamman bt GAC (Kumbakonam) 3- 1; Holy Cross bt Seethalakshmi Ramaswami 8-1.
