Sachin struggles

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sachin Antony was stretched by M.R. Sivakumar but the former won 7-6, 7-6 in the opening round of the boys’ under-18 singles in the 22nd G.V. Raja memorial tennis tournament at the TTC courts here on Saturday.

The results (first round): Boys’ singles: Under-18: Sachin Antony bt M.R. Sivakumar 7-6, 7-6; G.L.Vivek bt Karthik Narayanan 6-0, 6-0; M.R. Rajendran bt A.Aravind 6-0, 6-1; Shyam Babu bt Vivek M. Under-16: Rijul Rauf bt Vivek M.Vijayan 9-5; Sarath Babu bt S.Sajin 9-6; Sachin Vinoth bt Ananth Mohan 9-2; Vishnu Padmakumar bt Sujith Jacob Oommen 9-8. Under-14: S.S. Nikhil bt V.G.
