Teacher’s Day celebrations

Select students performed the role of teachers on Teacher’s Day at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Kalpetta in Wayanad district. Ebbin Joseph, Amal Mathew and Ayana Thomas, eighth standard students, were selected the best teachers.

In the morning assembly, services of the former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan were recalled.

A district-level awareness campaign on the Rajiv Gandhi Energy Conservation Programme in Wayanad was inaugurated by District Collector P.P. Gopi at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kalpetta, on September 6. Anert and the Energy Conservation Society, Wayanad, organised the programme.

The Collector also inaugurated the Junior Red Cross Unit and the Energy Conservation Club of the school. Principal C.V. Shanthy welcomed the gathering.

Luko, secretary, Red Cross Society, Wayanad, gave a broad outline of the importance of Red Cross. James, senior teacher, proposed a vote of thanks.
