Probe into land deal sought

Staff Reporter

PALAKKAD: The leader of the Communist Marxist Party (CMP) M.V. Raghavan has demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Merchiston Estate land deal near Ponmudy where a private individual has allegedly sold the forest land to the Indian Space Research Organisation.

Mr. Raghavan told mediapersons here on Sunday that Forest Minister Benoy Viswom should step down till the inquiry was completed to ensure a free and a fair inquiry into the land deal.
