IOC ready for more farmer service centres

JAIPUR: The Indian Oil Corporation has offered to increase the number of farmer service centres, where petrol, diesel and all agriculture-related materials are available under one roof, in Rajasthan from 130 to 200 and later open them in all village panchayats to provide quality service to the farming community.

Senior IOC officials, who met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at her official residence here over the week-end, said the farmer service centres would ensure easy and prompt availability of items such as seeds and fertiliser. Besides, the IOC will examine the feasibility of installing plants for manufacturing diesel from jatropha in accordance with the State Government’s policy to promote biofuel.

Ms. Raje underlined the need to increase the number of auto LPG stations to stop the misuse of domestic LPG and control environmental pollution.
