Customs and Central Excise triumphs

KURIANOOR: Customs and Central Excise (Kochi) won the title in the men’s section in the eighth Maxtulin Champions Trophy basketball tournament on Saturday.

The Kochi side trounced BSNL (Thiruvananthapuram) 60-40 with international Subash J. Shenoy doing the bulk of scoring with 27 points. Bobit Mathew (17) top-scored for the loser.

Shenoy and G. Reshma (SAI, Thalassery) were chosen the best players in men’s and women’s sections respectively.

The results: Men: Final: Customs and Central Excise (Kochi) 60 (Subash J. Shenoy 27, V. Vivek 12) bt BSNL (Thiruvananthapuram) 40 (Bobit Mathew 17, P.S. Arun 11).
