At Coimbatore, a fine spell by Sivakumar (six for nine) enabled SMS College of Arts and Science score a seven-wicket win over Kovai Kalaimagal CAS in a ‘B’ Zone match of the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate cricket tournament on Sunday. The scores: Kovai Kalaimagal CAS 82 in 25 overs (Sivakumar six for nine) lost to SMS CAS 84 for three in 11.1 overs (Sathish Kumar 52 not out); Hindustan CAS 107 in 20 overs lost to Maharaja CAS 108 for two in 23.4 overs (Karthikeyan 5 1); Sri Jayendra 180 for eight in 25 overs bt RVS College (Sulur) 124 in 22.3 overs. At Udhagamandalam, Good Shepherd International School (GSIS) posted a 52-run win over St. Joseph’s Boys HSS (Ooty) in an under-19 inter-school match for the F.K. Irani Trophy on Sunday.
