Kakinada: A meeting of the representatives of various workers’ unions, shipping trade and steel barge owners will be held in Hyderabad on September 11 to sort out the problems faced by them and also to improve the infrastructure facilities in the port area, according to M.V. Ramana Rao, Minister for Ports.
He told The Hindu here on Sunday that the meeting was mainly aimed at clearing the apprehensions among port workers on the future of the port in the light of the reports of impending diversion of fertilizer imports.
The Minister made it clear that the Chief Minister was committed to the assurance that under any circumstances the traditional cargo would not be diverted.
