NEW DELHI: A young man allegedly shot at and injured a 25-year-old woman and her mother after she turned down his marriage proposal at Rani Bagh here on Sunday. While the victims are stated to be out of danger, a hunt has been launched for the culprit. According to the police, Jagat went to meet his friend Neeti at her residence around 8-45 p.m. He allegedly proposed to her, but Neeti turned it down. This irked Jagat and he allegedly hit her on the head with a firearm butt. Neeti screamed for help, hearing which her mother Asha (45) came running. Jagat then allegedly shot at Neeti and Asha and fled from the spot. Both the injured were taken to Maharaja Agarsen Hospital by their neighbours. At that time, Asha’s husband Gulshan and son Himanshu were away. The police have registered a case of attempt-to-murder and are trying to trace Jagat.
