Andhra Pradesh
For the last one month, underground drainage work has been progressing on the Siddhartha Academy road. A stretch of over half a km of road is being dug, which has resulted in congestion of road during peak hours. Particularly in the evening hours, it takes at least half-an-hour to cross the stretch as the road chokes with vehicles moving in both directions. Though a constable is posted at the stretch, traffic jams are recurrent here. We request the officials concerned to complete the works at the earliest. K.V. Rama Rao Vijayawada Act promptly
Sivaramakrishna Kshetram in Satyanarayanapuram is a hub of spiritual activity, which is promoted and developed by several spiritual minded persons. It was maintained by a committee for several years. Later, the Endowments Department entered the committee and took over the management on some technical reasons. The Kshetram is losing its sheen, as the new management is not arranging any spiritual programmes and not even accepting suggestions and advises from anyone. A few officials and clerks from the Endowments Department are taking all decisions pertaining to the temples in the Kshetram and it is learnt that huge money has changed hands for leasing out four shops on the premises. Can the devotees expect some action from any quarter? V. Ramakrishna Kumar Vijayawada Good job
The Government has done a good job by posting a young IAS officer, Gaurav Uppal, as Sub-Collector of Vijayawada. We are happy to note that the Government has identified the need for deputing an IAS officer for the coveted post. We feel certain qualities of the IAS officers like straightforwardness, service to citizens and monitoring the administration from top to bottom can’t be seen among others. L.V.S. Kameswara Rao Vijayawada Change timings
One of the busy centres in the city, Gandhi Nagar has several theatres. The show timings are more or less the same for all these theatres, resulting in traffic jams on the road between two shows. The problem is acute in the evening, when people come of theatres after watching the matinee show and many others reach the theatres for the first show. This is the time when employees and students return homes. Since everyone is in a hurry to reach their destination in time, the roads are witnessing traffic jams. We hope the officials concerned will make some arrangement like making small changes in the schedule of show timings of some theatres. M. Rajababu Vijayawada
