Udupi: Three persons, including two students, were killed in a collision between a lorry and a school van at Uliyargoli near Kaup on National Highway 17 here on Sunday. Two students, Rajat Sharma and Smita from Shimoga and Muddebihal in Bijapur district, respectively, and Ancit, a teacher, were travelling by a van of Vidyaniketan Residential School. It collided with a lorry from the opposite direction at Uliyargoli. The victims were rushed to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the van, Devananda from Mulki in Dakshina Kannada district, has been admitted to a hospital in Udupi. A case has been registered, the Kaup police said.
