Aircrash: body of victim taken to Ponkunnam

KOCHI: The Jet Airways flight bearing the body of Sunil Joseph, who was in the ill-fated aircraft owned by the Joy Alukkas group which crash landed at Bangalore on Saturday, reached Kochi around 8 p.m. on Sunday, according to sources at the domestic terminal at the Cochin International Airport.

The body was taken to Ponkunnam, his native place. Sunil Joseph’s wife, Nisha, and their three children had left for Ponkunnam on Saturday itself. The family was residing at Maradu, Kochi for the past couple of years and their eldest child was a student of Gregorian Public School here.

A spokesman of the Joy Alukkas Group, said that the group has not so far declared any compensation for the four victims, since the aircraft was insured. Mr. Joy Alukkas was there at the airport to receive the body of Sunil Joseph. He has not so far sought any enquiry into the cause of the accident.
