Defaced compound walls

Most of the compound walls of Government offices and semi-Government offices in the city are completely plastered with posters, advertisements and political graffiti.

The defaced compound walls of the Accountant-General’s Office and Keltron at Vellayambalam are cases in point. Public premises are not the place for putting up posters of films advertisements and notices published by sundry political organisations.

This amount to trespassing and stringent action should be taken against those who indulge in this kind of unlawful activities.

Even educational institutions in the city are not spared. To tackle this problem, certain places in the city could be earmarked for displaying cinema posters.

Park sought

The vacant land in front of Kancheepuram Madankoil near the Karamana bridge in between the roads should be converted to a park for the benefit of the people in Sastri Nagar and surrounding areas. Hope the Corporation officials will look into the matter.

Poor condition of road

The condition of the road from Zephyr to the south gate of the Collectorate (eastern side) is very bad. There are potholes throughout the road. On rainy days it is very difficult to travel through the area. Seeking early remedial action.

Indifference of conductors

As a senior citizen travelling often in city services, I am amazed at the indifference of KSRTC conductors to ensure that the seats earmarked for the elderly in buses are occupied by them. The Transport Minister should issue suitable directives in this regard.
