Station masters to stage dharna

KOCHI: Station masters will stage a dharna in front of the sixty-seven divisional offices of the Railways on Tuesday, demanding that additional station masters be posted as recommended by the Railway Board.

The Thiruvananthapuram divisional secretary of the All-India Station Masters’ Association, T. Mohandas, said in a statement that as a cadre, station masters have to put up with the maximum stress levels. Six station masters have been jailed, following rail accidents, he said.
