‘Gowda using internal reservation bogey’

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda is using the “internal reservation” bogey to decimate the Idiga and Kuruba communities, and his real targets were leaders like himself and former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress leader B. Janardhan Poojary said here today.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Narayana Mandir to be built by the Billava Association here, Mr. Poojary said Mr. Deve Gowda was trying to deflect attention from the shenanigans of the Janata Dal (Secular), which was trying to get out of keeping its commitment to coalition partner BJP on transfer of power.

Earlier, as the partner of the Congress-led coalition too, Mr. Deve Gowda had tried to call the shots through “emotionally blackmail”.

He had wanted to “finish” the political future of Mr. Siddaramaiah, and now he cannot stomach the fact that the latter has joined the Congress, Mr. Poojary said.

Mr. Poojary told presspersons: “Mr. Deve Gowda’s fight is against me and Mr. Siddaramaiah.”

Congress MLAs Dinesh Gundu Rao, Gopal Poojary, and the Billava Association president Ved Kumar were present.
