Vinay, Poonam bag honours

MYSORE: B. Vinay Kumar of Marimallappa’s PU College (Mysore) with 13 points and Poonam Y. Kole of Teresian PU College (Mysore) with 18 points won the boys’ and girls’ individual titles respectively in the PU-level athletics meet for Mysore taluk here on Sunday.

Vinay won the long jump and triple jump gold and finished second in high jump.

K.P. Sumanth of TTL College emerged the fastest by winning the 100m in 11.56 seconds. He also won the 200m event.

Marimallappa’s PU College won the overall team championship title in the boys’ section with 45 points.

Poonam won the gold in 400m, 800m and 1500m. She also won the silver in triple jump.

B.S. Nandini of JSS PU College emerged the fastest women by clinching the 100m gold in 14.88s. She also won the 200m gold and a bronze in 800m.

Teresian PU College won the overall team championship in the girls’ section with 64 points.
