Hindu SSS girls triumph

CHENNAI: Government HSS (M.K.B. Nagar) and Hindu SSS (Adyar) emerged the winners in the boys’ and girls’ sections respectively in the Independence Day Cup district throwball championship which concluded on Saturday.

In the final, Government HSS defeated SBIOA Model MHSS 15-9, 15-13, while Hindu SSS accounted for St. John’s SSS (Mandaveli) 6-15, 15-7, 15-11.

Other results: Third place: Boys: St. John’s MHSS (Baba Nagar) bt P.S. Main MHSS 15-10, 15-11.

Girls: Sri Sankara Vidyasharam bt JG Government HSS 15-10, 10-15, 15-5.
