There was a big noise before the bridge collapsed. Soon after the green signal, vehicles from Punjagutta circle started on their way towards Nagarjuna circle and suddenly a big section of the bridge collapsed on cars and autorickshaws and most of them got crushed under the debris and scaffoldings. Anwar Ali Khan, Owner of Busharat Plaza I was helping two women passengers board an autorickshaw and suddenly a couple of girders along with cement structures collapsed on the vehicles beneath the bridge. One of the women suffered head injuries and was shifted to hospital. There was a traffic jam and the whole situation appeared to be chaotic. P. Ramesh, Passerby on way to Nagarjuna Circle After the thud, some girders and piers of the bridge on the Nagarjuna Circle side (near Himalaya Book Centre) started collapsing. It all happened in a jiffy and there was hardly any time to react.
