HYDERABAD: Governor N. D. Tiwari and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy expressed shock and distress over the loss of life due to the collapse of the flyover at Punjagutta on Sunday evening.
In separate messages, Mr. Tiwari and Dr. Reddy conveyed their condolences to members of the bereaved families.
The Chief Minister on hearing about the incident visited the spot and directed officials to focus on the rescue of those trapped under the debris and in the vehicles. He asked officials of the GHMC to oversee debris clearance operations and deploy heavy equipment like cranes. Dr. Reddy said free treatment will be provided to the hurt.
