Medicine traders observe strike

Gorakhpur (UP): Medicine traders and dealers here on Monday observed a day’s strike in protest against the imposition of National Security Act (NSA) upon a fellow trader in Lucknow. “The organisation strongly opposes the trade of fake medicines, but the atrocities inflicted upon a drug dealer in Lucknow and wrongly invoking National Security Act upon him is intolerable and the federation would oppose it on every level,” UP Chemist and Druggist Federation district president Satyendra Singh said. Barring a few stores near the district hospital, majority of medical shops in the city remained closed.
