Two acquitted

MADURAI: The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has set aside the conviction of and the life imprisonment awarded to Mukilan alias Tamizh Mukilan and Arivu alias Thiruvalluvar, accused of blasting a Nehru statue in Chennai and the Doordarshan station at Kodaikanal in 1988.

A Division Bench commuted the life sentence of two other accused, Pozhilan alias Thalapathy and Ilango alias Karikalan, to 10-year rigorous imprisonment.
