KARIMNAGAR: Women of Vachunuru village in Manakondur mandal on Monday ransacked belt-shops and seized ID liquor and IML demanding the authorities concerned to take stern action against the culprits on Monday. The women, who were otherwise worried with the ID liquor and IML liquor being available through belt shops and the subsequent ruin of their families with the consumption of liquor by men folk, have had earlier appealed to the police and excise officials to take measures to stop the ID liquor menace, but it all went in vain. Unable to undergo the mental torture meted out to them by their men folk who consumed the liquor, women attacked the liquor dens and IML belt-shops and also destroyed the liquor. They seized black jaggery used for making ID liquor and some liquor bottles and nabbed two persons for selling ID liquor and running a belt-shop in the village and handed them over to the police. The women also warned the ID liquor-makers of dire consequences if they entered their villages again.
