Malaysian Minister S. Sami Vellu.
Vehicular traffic is at its peak from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mavoor Road in Kozhikode city. Vehicles and pedestrians find it difficult to pass through the road. Only buffaloes seem to enjoy easy passage. Their owners let these animals loose on the roads. The busy Mavoor Road and others often experience traffic blocks with vehicles screeching to a halt as the buffaloes run hither and thither. Recently, a buffalo, which entered the railway track near Na landa Hotel, was hit by a train. The police took the animal to a vet. It is time the authorities stopped allowing these animals on to the road. On M.M. Ali Road, traffic congestion is due to the presence of a vegetable market and a bus stand, along with the narrow road. J.S. Bablu
