Sakia’s brace helps Delhi Cantonment post win

NEW DELHI: D. Saikia scored two goals to steer Delhi Cantonment to 3-1 win over Uttarakhand FC in a league match of the Delhi Soccer Association’s ‘A’ division open clubs football championship at the Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday.

Saikia struck the opener in the 17th minute before Manpreet Singh made it 2-0 in the 26th minute.

Uttarakhand reduced the margin in the 26th minute through H.S. Chauhan, but after the breather, Saikia scored his second goal in the 48th minute.

In another match, Young Boys defeated Ajmal FC 1-0 through Abhay’s 61st minute effort.
