Plea to maintain harmony during Ganesh festival

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: The Adilabad Hindu Samaj Utsav Samiti on Tuesday appealed to people of different religions to maintain communal harmony during the 11 day Ganesh festival starting September 15. Samiti president Prafull H. Vaze and secretary Goli Tirupati also appealed to people to inform about any suspicious activity not only to police, but to the organisation too.

At a press conference the Samiti office bearers urged Hindus to unfurl saffron flags on their shops and homes during the 11 days.

Meanwhile, the VHP leaders said a train roko will be organised at Adilabad railway station at 9 a.m. on Wednesday protesting the dismantling of the underwater Ramsethu linking Rameswaram and Sri Lanka.
