Congress to field candidates in all wards in Bellary

Staff Correspondent

BELLARY: “There are no differences among Congress leaders in Bellary district, who would contest elections to the urban civic bodies in a united way,” M. Narayanswamy, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee observer for Bellary district, has said.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday after participating in the party workers’ meeting, Mr. Narayanswamy expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in all urban civic bodies in the district.

“The mood is in favour of the Congress,” he said. Making it clear that there would be no tie-up with any political party, he said candidates would be fielded in all wards in the urban civic bodies in the district. “B” forms would be issued only to winning candidates, in consultation with party leaders and workers of the area, he said. Refuting statements on the role of money in the elections, he said the people had already started comparing the achievements of various parties. Speakers at the party meeting recalled the setback suffered by the Congress in the last general election, and underlined the need to strive hard to emerge supreme.
