Jammu: The police have registered a case against Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Hari Singh and his son Pawan for allegedly trying to encroach the land of irrigation department here. A number of local people gathered at Satwari temple here and resisted the move by the Congress leader and his son to extend boundaries of the temple on irrigation department’s land on Monday, police said on Tuesday. However, they went ahead with the work. In the meantime, officers of irrigation department also reached the spot and lodged a complaint with Satwari police station, they said. A police party from Satwari police station led by station house officer (SHO) Arvinder Kotwal rushed to the spot and thwarted the encroachment attempt, they said.
