NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan has urged Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna to take steps to preserve the 123-acre Ridge area in South Delhi.
In a statement, Dr. Vardhan said the National Building Construction Corporation’s plan to construct 492 houses for political leaders and bureaucrats would cause irreparable damage to the ridge area. The Government has given permission to the NBCC to construct these houses after cutting down trees in the invaluable green area. This area provides oxygen to the Capital and the L-G must intervene to ensure that the trees are saved.
