Big win for RIE

Mysore: Regional Institute of Education, Mysore registered a 178-run win over its city-mate JSS BEd College to make the second round of the Chamundi Zone Mysore University inter-collegiate cricket tournament here.

The scores: RIE, Mysore 227 for five in 25 overs (S. Thirugnanam 50, K.N. Lokesh Kumar 47) bt JSS BEd 49 in 17 overs (M.N. Manoj three for two).

St. Philomena’s FGC 182 for six in 25 overs (H.R. Cheluvaraj 48 ) bt DBCC 143 in 23 overs (Akshay four for 15); Basudeva Somani FGC 125 in 26 overs lost to SBRR Mahajana FGC 128 for nine in 26 overs.

Saradha Vilas Law College 127 in 26.1 overs (Jayanna 53 not out) bt Vishwakavi FGC 103 in 25 overs.
