TRAC seeks dismissal of Collector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Trivandrum Residents Apex Council (TRAC) has urged the Government to remove District Collector N. Ayyappan from his post for allegedly keeping the Revenue Minister in the dark about ISRO’s request for land to set up the Indian Institute of Space Science here.
A press note said the Collector had unilaterally informed ISRO about the non-availability of land for the project. This, they said, had forced the ISRO into the controversial land deal at Ponmudi.
The press note blamed the Collector for the delay in land acquisition for the development of Vizhinjam fishing harbour, Technocity project and the international airport.
