Police still clueless in hit-and-run case

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The police are still searching for clues in the hit-and-run case in which a Delhi traffic police constable was seriously injured by a speeding vehicle near Boat Club here this past week.

Stating that investigations into the case had been initiated again from scratch, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Anand Mohan on Tuesday said all the facts were being examined.

“We are also trying to ascertain if the vehicle that hit the constable was indeed a Toyota Corolla,” he said, adding that no closed-circuit television camera was installed where the incident took place.

Constable Vinod Sharma, who is admitted to Lohia Hospital, is yet to be declared fit for statement.

According to the police, the traffic inspector who was at the spot when the incident took place could not note down the registration number of the vehicle as he was challaning another vehicle.
