Gram panchayats told to install complaint boxes

Belgaum: Principal Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms R. Suresh has asked all gram panchayats to install complaint boxes in their offices.

Responding to complaints from the public here on Wednesday, he said that such a step facilitate the gram panchyats to receive grievances and ensure transparency in administration.

He also asked the officials to try to process applications and take decision within 15 days.

Regional Commissioner Amita Prasad, Deputy Commissioner M.E. Shivalingamurthy and zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer N. Prabhakar were present.

Earlier, Mr. Suresh visited district government hospital and a boys hostel maintained by the Backward Classes and Minorities Department.
