M.P. awaits Centre’s nod for water project
Bhopal: An ambitious project to provide water to the capital city residents by pumping water from Narmada river in village Hirni through pipelines of nearly 40 kms, will take place soon after the Centre approves it, state Commercial Taxes minister, Babulal Gaur said here on Wednesday.
“Necessary permission from the apex court for laying the pipeline from Ratapani reserve forest has already been received and now the government is awaiting the nod of Union Surface Transport Ministry,” he said. “All relevant papers were submitted to the concerned ministry for granting permission to lay the pipeline alongside NH 12 and 69,” said Mr. Gaur, who is also an MLA from Govindpura constituency.
He added that fresh application for allocation of plot in Vidhan Sabha’s ‘Bapuvan’ has been moved for making a master balancing reservoir for the purpose.
Similarly, permission is also awaited from the Western Central railway for laying a 1100 mm (rpt 1100 mm) -diameter pipeline near the Habibganj railway underbridge and the state government has already deposited the required Rs 67 lakhs with the railways. -- PTI
