Letters to the Editor
This refers to the editorial “Held to ransom” (Sept. 12). We opted for a representative democracy in the hope that our representatives would work on our behalf towards establishing an egalitarian society. Politicians, who indulge in mudslinging, create a din, and walk out of Parliament, do not realise that they are playing with the people’s expectations. With the legislature increasingly failing to do its duty, the judiciary is making laws by entertaining as many public interest litigation petitions as possible.
