NEW DELHI: National champion Purav Raja emerged the lone Indian to make the singles quarterfinals after he outplayed his doubles partner Tushar Liberhan 6-3, 6-2 in the $10,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament at Manado, Indonesia, on Wednesday.

The Indian players, seeded No.1 and 2 in the doubles, managed to make the quarterfinals without much effort.

The results (featuring Indians):

Pre-quarterfinals: Singles: Ikaika Jobe (U.S.) bt Aditya Madkekar 7-5, 6-2; Purav Raja bt Tushar Liberhan 6-3, 6-2; Damian Hume (RSA) bt Ashutosh Singh 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: Tushar Liberhan/ Purav Raja bt Manico Matosevic/ Andrew Roberts (Aus) 6-0, 6-3; Aditya Madkekar/ Ashutosh Singh w/o Sydney Jim (U.S.)/ Kaushik Raju.
