Urumu Dhanalakshmi College in last four

THANJAVUR: Urumu Dhanalakshmi College defeated Appu CC by seven wickets to enter the semifinals of the Indian Air Force Platinum Jubilee cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores: Appu CC 139 in 34.3 overs lost to Urumu Dhanalakshmi College 140 for three in 27.2 overs (Murali 51 not out).

JJ CET triumphs

At Tiruchi, JJ College of Engineering and Technology defeated AVC College of Engineering 29-28, 29-26 to win the title in the Anna University inter-collegiate (Zone VIII) ball badminton tournament here.

The results: Final: JJ CET bt AVC CE 29-28, 29-26. Third place: MAM CE bt Jayaram CET 29-26, 29-18.
