Admission of mistake: Rajnath
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The government’s decision to file a supplementary affidavit before the Supreme Court in connection with the Ramar Sethu case is seen by the Bharatiya Janata Party as an admission that it had made a mistake and had indeed hurt the sentiments of Hindus. It now wants the government to apologise for doing so.
“A mere acknowledgement of the mistake and the withdrawal of the current affidavit are not enough. The BJP demands an unconditional apology from the government for hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindus,” party president Rajnath Singh told a press conference in Agartala on Thursday even as the party simultaneously released the text of his statement here.
