Nod for inking pact with INTACH

PANAJI: The Goa Cabinet on Thursday approved a proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi-based Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) to entrust to the latter the task of restoration, conservation and maintenance of heritage and cultural monuments in the State.
Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told presspersons here on Thursday that the State Government had already approved a master plan prepared by the State Directorate of Archeology for schemes of restoration, conservation, maintenance , preservation and beautification of its 51 archeological sites\monuments.
Grants
The State would utilise grants available under the 12th Finance Commission to take up work to the tune of Rs.20 crore between 2007 and 2010, he said.
