ZP member killed in road accident

HAVERI: Haveri Zilla Panchayat member Meersab S. Khadri (40) was killed after the car he was driving collided with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus on Thursday.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 1 p.m. near Tadas Cross when Mr. Khadri was returning to Savanur from Hubli in his car.
Mr. Khadri, who was representing Karadagi Zilla Panchayat constituency, was the elder brother of the former MLA Ajjampeer S. Khadri.
The police said that Mr. Meersab Khadri was travelling alone in the car when the accident occurred.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the body of Mr. Khadri was stuck in the mangled remains of the car.
The Shiggaon police have registered a case.
