Kollam takes points on first-innings lead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kollam, after gaining the vital first innings lead over Kottayam, took two points as the match between the two sides in the South Zone inter-district under-19 cricket tournament ended in a draw at the Medical College ground on Thursday.

The match between host Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha also ended in a tame draw.

The two sides shared a point each and the first innings of the either sides could not be completed.

The scores: Kottayam 173 and 40 for three drew with Kollam 221 in 57.3 overs (Subin Sulaiman 69, Rahul Dev 59, Ajimon five for 73, Ronson four for 92).

Alappuzha 194 in 76.4 overs (R.Sandeep 59) drew with Thiruvananthapuram 110 for three in 39 overs.
