Visakhapatnam tops league

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam retained the M.P.V.V. Raghava Rao trophy by topping the league in the ACA North Zone seniors’ inter-district tournament that concluded at Kakinada on Thursday.

Visakhapatnam defeated Srikakulam East Godavari beat Vizianagaram to finish runner-up.

The scores:

Srikakulam 95 and 89 in 41.3 overs (A. Meghanadh 40) lost to Visakhapatnam 163 in 51.1 overs and 22 for no loss.

Vizianagaram 55 and 97 in 37.2 overs (M. Harikishen four for 26, Khadar Khan four for 39) lost to 219 for eight decl. (M. Krishna Murthy 84, K. Naga Gangadhar 63).
