BHUBANESWAR: The stage is set for the inauguration of the three-day Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra annual award ceremony and festival of dance and music at Jayadev Bhawan here on Friday. One-of -its-kind festival in Orissa, which provides the people of the State with the unique opportunity to meet some of the legendary artistes of the nation, it is being hosted by Srjan dance institution led by the legendary guru’s son Ratikant Mohapatra. Chief Minister Mr.Naveen Patnaik will present the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra annual awards to four veteran artistes of the State for their pioneering contribution to their respective fields. They are Nilamadhab Panigrahi (Odissi music), Harekrushna Behera (Odissi dance), Brundaban Patra (theatre) and Sarat. Each of the award carries a cash award of Rs.25,000 besides a citation. Several eminent dancers and musicians including legendary Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jasraj, will participate in the festival.
