Heavy security cover overshadows festivities

The State capital has virtually turned into a fortress with unprecedented security arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of Ganesh festival.

With rumours over more terror strikes doing rounds even after the twin blasts that rocked the city on August 25, the police are taking no chances and are initiating a series of precautionary measures to ensure incident-free celebrations.

Additional police forces from neighbouring districts have already been dispatched to all the police stations.

Installation of surveillance cameras at strategic points is also on.

In addition to this, special police teams will be constantly checking vehicles to keep a tab on motorists moving under suspicious circumstances.
