No alternate accommodation will be given Compensation package to be liberal HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be concentrating on widening roads up to 100 ft on the proposed routes for the metro rail project in the coming months. As part of this, it has issued notices to property owners on the Narayanguda-Chikkadpally and Narayanguda-Musheerabad roads. 387 propertiesRoads in these parts are between 60 ft to 70 ft. While there are about 387 properties on these stretches with 214 on the left side and 173 on the right – all private properties, there are also nine other properties belonging to the Government. The affected owners and businessmen met up with the planning officials recently seeking alternate accommodation or land anywhere nearby. But, they were told categorically that the civic body had no land to spare and all it could offer was structural compensation and extra FSI with Transfer of Developmental Rights (TDR). CompensationSenior officials have assured the owners that their respective properties will not be touched till the cheques for the structural compensation are issued. And the compensation package will be liberal, it was promised. Along with these two stretches, the Fever Hospital to Osmania University junction too is to be widened for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) being planned. ere the road width is between 60 ft and 80 ft and will be widened to 100 ft. One hundred and seventy properties are to get affected on this road. The acquisition of properties on the Liberty junction to Narayanguda has been going on for quite some time and 51 properties still remain to be acquired while 220 have been taken so far.
